Dalmanites limulurus
Vendor: Fossil Soup
SKU Number: SQ8671530
A nicely preserved example of the Middle Silurian trilobite Dalmanites limulurus from the Rochester Shale “Caleb Quarry” location near Middleport, NY.
The genal spines are nicely preserved and complete and the eyes have been carefully prepared under a microscope. All of these trilobites show indications of either minor restoration or repair due to the water saturation of the rock and the paper thin fossilization of the carapace.
This example is very typical of the species from Caleb Quarry with some restoration and repair around the pygidium and the cephalon. A great American trilobite that graces the collections of museums from around the world.
